CSR Activities

 

We participated in a tour and experience of local environmental conservation activities and environmental resources promoted by the local government in the Chichibu area.
The tour included a visit to a winery that produces Chichibu wine and assisted with farm work, and planting 1,800 lawn cherry seedlings at Hitsujiyama Park. On the return trip on the sightseeing train, we had a dinner using local ingredients, and a nutrition education instructor helped us to deepen our understanding of local agricultural products and food culture.

 

As part of our activities to protect the natural environment of the Ina Valley, we observed Oriental dollarbird nesting in nesting boxes we had installed on the Shitoku Bridge in Nakagawa Village.
We were able to observe the birds catching food and carrying it into the nesting boxes, and also diving toward the boxes.

 

We worked with local residents to maintain the Terazaka flowerbeds : planting flowers. The seedlings were grown from seeds harvested last year. Although the seedlings were small this year, we will be able to enjoy beautiful flowers in early autumn.

 

As a part of the Oriental dollarbird conservation activities conducted by the ”Bupposo Sato-no-Kai (Oriental dollarbird club)”, we helped them prepare nesting boxes and observed nesting box hanging. We checked wires, spreading nest materials(peat moss) and so on to hang the nesting boxes firmly.

As a part of MBL's SDGs activities, we have been participating in Oriental dollarbird protection activities conducted by the “Bupposo Sato-no-Kai” since last year.
To support the protection activities of the Oriental dollarbird club, the Nagano Prefectural Government, Oriental dollarbird club, and MBL have signed the Biodiversity Conservation Partnership Agreement. The signing ceremony was held at the Nagano Prefectural Government Office on February 10, 2023.
