Impact of March 11, 2011 Earthquake on Medical & Biological Laboratories Co., Ltd. (MBL) and its group companies.
The earthquake's impact on MBL was limited to some falling stuff at Tokyo sales office and we are thankful to report that all employees are safe and its main offices including corporate and operational centers in Nagoya and Ina are fully operational.
The followings are our current production and shipping situation;
- Production: in normal operation
- Domestic shipping: there has been no shipping to Tohoku area (the area that was severely damaged) since March 14, 2011 due to operation suspension of transportation companies. Shipping to other area has been operating, but there could be some delays depending on the destination. We will persevere in our efforts to ensure a stable supply of products to medical institutions.
- International shipping: has not been affected so far.
Impact on our group companies.
One of our subsidiaries, G&G Science Co., Ltd., which is located in Fukushima prefecture, has gotten damages to its facilities but the overall impact was not serious. The company's manufacturing operations have been transferred to MBL's Ina Laboratory years ago and the stable supply of their products are ensured. Current business of the company is focused on R&D and analysis.
