SMITEST HBV Genotyping Kit can identify the seven HBV genotypes, even if two or more exist in the subject with at least one tenths of their populations.

Background:

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) has been classified into seven genotypes from A through G based on about 8 % of nucleotide divergences on the complete genome. It has been revealed that the genotypes do not always accord with subtypes, but are highly related to the degree of liver diseases, the eruption of virus gene mutations, and drug effectiveness. Widely known genotyping methods require complicated operations and can not distinguish two or more genotypes existing in superinfected samples.
SMITEST HBV Genotyping Kit is designed to be highly and equally sensitive to all genotypes, even if two or more exist in one sample, and also to prevent carryover contamination of the PCR products by the use of Uracil DNA glycosylase (UDG) and dUTP instead of dTTP. In addition, ELISA like operations are made use of to simplify the assay.
